BOUTINOT FRANCE 14% ABV
Named after the olive groves or ‘oliviers’ that flourish around the sun-drenched vineyards of southern France, grapes for these wines come from carefully selected plots of Languedoc old vines.
Grapes are grown on a single plot of Merlot, discovered by Winemaker Guillaume Letang. The fruit is cool-fermented and no oak is used in order to maintain the fresh fruit and perfumed flavours.
Perfumed fruit with a hint of lavender. Merlot flavours of ripe plum shine through, while a savoury, green note on the finish comes from the Mourvèdre.
Enjoyable on its own, with an aperitif of olives, or with a puttanesca sauce.
