Les Volets Malbec, Pays de la Haute Vallée de l’Aude

BOUTINOT FRANCE 13% ABV

In the high Aude region is a beautiful and rugged environment, home to the Languedoc and Limoux AOPs, but the vineyards do not stop with the AOP geographical limits and it is from these outskirts that we have sourced some exceptionally interesting wines for the Les Volets range.

Production

Sourced from cooler vineyards, this is a unique expression of Malbec. A longer, slower ripening gives developed flavours, complexity and finesse. Traditional vinification techniques are used, until the final stage, where Malbec (known as Cot locally) is normally blended with other varieties. We chose to keep this wine unblended in order to appreciate its different style.

Tasting notes

The wine is vibrantly ruby with aromas of violets, cranberries and a touch of cacao nib on the lifted finish.
