BOUTINOT SOUTH AFRICA 14% ABV
Percheron is a breed of heavy, French horse traditionally used when many plots, now prized, old-vine plantings, were first established. The employment of these horses is now enjoying a resurgence in South Africa as their hooves are gentler to the soil and surrounding vines. We celebrate this re-introduction with a range of contemporary wines of traditional South African cultivars.
Sourced from traditionally tended vineyards in Swartland with the perfect climate for viticulture giving grapes time to develop and ripen slowly. A mixture of fruit from the Riebeek Valley and Kasteelberg, the Shiraz and Viognier are fermented together with punching down multiple times a day to ensure maximum extraction.
Slightly sandy in nature, aromas of summer pudding and bright red berries are accompanied by sweet spice and creaminess. Ripe and juicy with a savoury finish.
Rich bean casseroles, or hearty meat dishes like roast lamb.
