For some years now we have claimed that ‘the whole of the Cape is our vineyard’. With the Capeography Co. we can bring that idea to life, demonstrating through sight and taste the diversity and regionality of the Cape.
These grapes grow in Elgin, traditionally an apple-growing region, where the natural bowl-shaped valley gathers clouds throughout the day, protecting the vines from the harsh afternoon sun. To further avoid this heat, the grapes are picked early in the morning and kept chilled until they are gently crushed. Cool fermentation in stainless steel, gentle filtration and bottling all help to maintain the fresh fruit flavours and crunchy appeal.
Classic Elgin Sauvignon Blanc with kiwi fruit, lime peel and freshly peeled green apple aromas. Rich on the palate with hints of green grass and asparagus.
Sea bass grilled on the braai, or creamy chicken dishes.
